Welcome! You have stumbled across a puzzle piece that fits with the project I am completing this month. I am showcasing how your team and business can use Zapier to maximize productivity and efficiency. If you are interested in putting more pieces of the puzzle together, then feel free to find them here!

I am creating a series of tutorial videos of ten different Zaps that can be made through Zapier to achieve that maximization I mentioned above.

This week went by a lot faster than last week, at least it seems. My grandmother once told me that time will grow arms and legs and run off if you are not careful. I thought about that statement today as I realized how quickly this past week went.

As I settled down a bit and got comfortable with my project and the applications that I am using for this project, I noticed that I am working through the steps quicker each time. Let’s recap what I did during week 2.

What I Completed:

It is a great feeling when I get to move each step to the ‘Finished’ board. I feel confident that I am moving along with my project, and staying on top of tasks and deadlines.

What’s Next

You can see from the picture above that I have all of my tasks laid out for this next week.

I plan to record three more videos, edit those videos, and post them to the Zapier Project playlist on my YouTube channel. I will begin the rough draft of the second blog summarizing the second five Zaps I create, write a week 3 update blog post, and post that week 3 update blog to LinkedIn and Slack.

Words of Advice

While working on any project, you have to be prepared for burn-out that may come with grinding away every day. Don’t be afraid to reach out to those around you, especially advisors and supervisors, to let them know and ask for advice. You don’t want to miss a deadline and have to confess at that point you had been feeling burned-out and didn’t reach out for help

I received some great advice this week from an advisor, and want to share the great advice I received:

  • Make sure that you prioritize sleeping and eating (especially healthy eating).
  • Give yourself a shutdown time. You may feel that you need to keep working on your project, but that’s going to cause you to feel even more burned out.
  • Try to take an entire day (or half-day) away from your work every week. This is something that has helped me to recharge and be ready to go.
  • Schedule in time specifically for your work and stick to it!

Once I started implementing all of this, I noticed a positive change. I feel less burned out, and I am more inspired to get to work.

Stay tuned for week 3! Check out my week 1 progress here.
